 Stewie comes home

well, we’re here. i had to leave to go to petstupid for a UVB. while i was there, i bought him a house. they have these edible tiki-shack houses in the small animals section, and i thought it would make a good hide (i was right).

so here is his old house:

here he is in his old house:

here he is taking his welcome-home nice, warm iodine bath. i was concerned about that old shed, but it soaked right off.

and he has some beautiful patterning on his tail and hind legs:

do they all have that?

here is his new house:

in his new house:

he sat for a bit, then went into his little house and turned around so he could look out. he’s way back in there, though. i know the tank is smaller than it should be, but it’s twice what he had. i put an ad on freecycle looking for a second aquarium; i want to cut half the bottom off, put it on top of this one, and then he’ll have a three-foot-tall, two-level house, which will hold him for a while.

i PAID MONEY for bugs! oh, the horror! here’s the little house i made for the crickets:

they’re in there with some parsnip and squash parings, and a wadded-up wet paper towel.

and THIS is what is now in my fridge:

i’m leaving the little bugger alone now. he’s had enough excitement for one day.
jesse

of course, now i have an empty habitat....
maybe i could raise crickets in it. i’m pretty ok w/crickets; they’re kind of not like bugs. i can even touch them. and they sing. i like that sound. and i could still kill them without a moment’s regret.
i’d rather put a gecko or somthing in it....

o0o0o if the old cage were a bit bigger, id say get a tokay gecko. rotflmao!!! but really, tokays are awesome. their aggressive mean little suckers, but i loved my girl when i had her. planning on getting another tokay when i move out.

the cage is small, but its a heck of a lot better than what he was in. hes still small enough you have time to get him a cage built.

good luck jesse!!
