 Nooby question on Coil Bulbs

i know theres something bad with the coil bulbs but i dont know the exact reason why they are bad? just wondering because i see bunch of post saying they are bad but no reason why.

thanks pocochu i read that whole thing and i was just wondering what was wrong with them........im so happy i get to buy all my lighting stuff for the iguana ill be getting soon
