I have a question concerning natural sunlight vs. UVB bulbs. I’ve read that iguanas should have the UVB bulbs on them for approx. 12 hrs? How many hours does that translate into for natural sunlight? The reason I’m asking is that I’ve been putting Einstein and Spanky outside into their enclosures for about 4-6 hrs. everyday and I’m wondering if I need to put their UVB bulbs on them in the morning before I put them out. I usually put them out around noon or so until 6 p.m. My old vet said that a couple of hours of natural sunlight is better for them than 12 hrs. of UVB from an artifical source, but I’m just checking to see what you all have heard or read. Thanks. |

Got this from The Green Ig Society If they are getting natural sunlight you don’t even have to worry about a uvb light inside....but winter time is a little different you will need a ubv light....I only run my uvb lights in the winter b/c my crew is out side every day...... ****Annie****:) |
