As far as I know, sprouts are not good for them but good for you :) Regular alfafa is a great plant protein source though but totally different than the sprouts. I use a powdered organic alfalfa tea leaf for Sam,. Well I did prior to his moving and I will again once he starts eating again, Maybe Annie can give you more info on the sprouts than I can, I personally grow and love them myself :) You also need to be very careful when buying sprouts in a store as they can often harbor a lot of bacteria. I would hold off on giving him sprouts Have a great day Tone~ |

I would not give him the sprouts. Maybe you can find hay in a feed store or even use hay blocks that you hydrate, though I am not a fan of something that sits in a bag for only God knows how long. There are tons of places online to find alfalfa powder. I go organic whenever possible especially for Sam and I got his online. I’m sure if you grew your own sprouts a tiny bit would not hurt but buying them and feeding as a regular source would not be beneficial. Only thing that it bears similarity in, is the name. I sprinkle the powder on Sam’s food and have not personally seen any change in growth due to using it. Then again Sam has always been VERY hyperactive and non stop :) Tone~ |
