 SO MAD!!!

We went away for a week for my sister’s wedding i hired an pet sitter who i ve used before for shorter period of times but never a week.. well guess what she never showed up!! i came home to starving animals and lights off.. no one had heat or uvb for an week!!!! arugghh and some of them are showing signs of MBD and one iguana actually died.. im soooooo P*ssed i called the police and SPCA on her saying it was Neglect.. all of them have an appt at the vet tomorrow which I cannot afford after my trip.. time to take out the VISA which i hate to use but they need it!!! I am soo upset right now and actually in tears. i cant believe i trusted her.. but i ve used her countless of times for a day or two and she is always so good.. and to think i trusted her for an week and called her and she said everythings good.. no worries they were fed yes uvb is on blah.. calicum was put on food etc..

wow im so sorry about ur iggy and the other animals and 2 think that she would lie about the animals saying thats everything is ok the nerve that people have and was it a company or just like some body working

no this was an close friend who volunteers for our rescue!! i now have 90 animals to take to the vet!

that is a bummer. might i suggest you invest in some timers for your lighting. this way it is one less thing for the person who is suppose to be taking care of your iguana to do. i have timers for my lights and never worry about having to get home to make sure i turn the lights off/on.

we do have some timers but we just moved and had not had the chance to install timers as we were busy installing cages.. ( mved in 2 weeks ago went away for an week )

Oh Wow Karlie, I’m so sorry hear this..that is just AWFUL....Sorry you lost one of your iggys...:(......

I would have done the same thing...I’d throw the book at her, friend or no friend.....well good luck tomorrow.....Hopefully their not too bad off.....keep us updated................

Oh Karlie, I am so sorry that this happened to you. My condolences on the loss of one of your Iguanas. How very sad that negligence had to play a part. Perhaps you can find some assistance here with the tremendous vet bills you are going to have.financial assistance

we put down 4 beardies and another iguana at the vet.. they were just too far gone with servere mbd ( they already had mbd when we rescued them and the week without uvb did them in )

the others are not too bad off..

my vet bill for this experience was over 3 thousand dollars.. and im still P*SSED off.. and really upset.. im never going away ever again!!

upon closer inspection one of my males has a big bite mark on him and my other male has a huge bruise.. i guess they both got out and got in a big fight when we were gone too.. vet said they would both be okay

i am so close to punching her out at least thats how i feel.. i think i am going to take her to court for neglect and make her pay my vet bill.. but that wont bring back the 6 animals i lost tho..

i just thank god that Caper and Kalai werent injured.. i dont know what i would do without those two

british columbia canada. oh i did not punch her out just punched a wall in the house and almost broke my wrist! have a sprained wrist now.. she has been charged with neglect tho.. the sad thing is we take animals in from the spca that they cannot keep ie iguanas etc.. and then now we have the spca ingvesting us!!! and we werent even home! arugh
