 Advice please

What a stressful few days with Sam relentlessly escaping or trying to every single second of each day. I gave my son an ultimatum and Sam is in his new hab now. All I have to do is scrub his tree and somehow maneuver it in there and he will be pretty much set.

He has been killing himself in the reptarium. He is now pacing the bottom of his new hab and still trying to get out. I know he needs to adjust. Poor baby’s head is all black. Understandable as he was in the rep since he was 5 months old.

Any advice to make it easier on this ADHD wild child love lizard?? I told Ant that he is not to move from this home for the next week as to watch Sam. It is a totally different setup. At least I am hoping to get his beloved tree in there as he is familiar with that.

We did end up buying nylon mesh but opted not to attach it so he has to get used to the wire coated as well which he can climb fine just no more flying through the air or wall sliding.

Any tips would be helpful and appreciated

Sam is OKAY :) Bedtime will be a bit daunting since there is a routine but I am sure that a new one will be made :) here is a couple of LOUSY pics of his new pad ( better in person I can assure you) tomorrow I will get some better ones. Ant is uploading a video he took so I will post that for ya’ll in a bit :) WOW my son sent me two crappy pics you cannot see the right to his hab next ones will be better

Thankyou Miss Green not so sure Sam is happy just yet but anything certainly has to be better than the piece of crap he was in :) A LOT of work went into this enclosure. Between my sawing and the massive scratches from his many escapes all week, I am calling myself Rambo haha not sure why that but that is what came to mind hehe

nice job on the cage! im sure sam will be loving it once he figures everything out. as far as taming him, i have nothing to offer, you are a well educated iguana owner, so nothing i can say will be of any benefit, lol.

Good Morning all,

Thanks so much for the comments. It took Ant about ten minutes to get Sam to sleep but that is not bad. It used to take me forever when I was putting him to bed. Somehow he just riles up around me ;) So he got his old soft bath towel and he is fully stretched out and sleeping now.
Oh and btw, the towel you see that is hanging out at the bottom of his tree is there because the bottom is the bottom of a kitty condo which he can venture inside if he wants :) He was actually trying to eat that and since it is regular carpet it is not a good thing so I will have to cover that somehow better but he always had a towel at the bottom since he liked to go on it and slide down :) Thanks again everyone I am sure I will update later on,

And to Bret, you always have something of benefit to say!

OH MAN he is going like a nut trying to get out. What is the deal here? It is not a space issue now. I mean there is no way he can escape out of this enclosure BUT still..

I think he is just one very hyper lizard who is a free spirit perhaps. Hopefully he will chill :)

He is GOOD. For some reason it is me who riles him totally up. When I am not around he chills...lol wish I could say that for the human population as well ;) He has not eaten much all week though. In his old piece of crap...err I mean hab, he was too hyped up and trying to get out to eat. He took a few bites today but not much and he did go to the bottom and do a little poo so yay..a tad TMI but eh..

He has SO much more room now. It is great.
