 New Hognose Advise

Ok so I was running on my property like I do every evening here in Texas, but today I found a Western Hognose/ Southern Hognose. I have all the required equipment for a snake considering I own two ball pythons, and a corn snake, So dont be worried about my capability for caring for it..... I do however need to know what the best food for the little snake will be for now.... he is too small for a pinkie so do i just need to give it crickets until it gets a little bigger??

Release it back where you found it and get a CB snake from a breeder.

Also, since you labeled it as a Western/Southern (2 different species) I can tell you don’t know much about them. Southerns are not found in Texas. Look at the link I posted and scroll down to the feeding section. Do you really want to battle with the snake over what it eats? You don’t have to if you buy a CB hatchling from a breeder. Check out LLL Reptile and BHB Reptiles to name a few. No need to take them out of the wild when there’s perfectly healthy, disease free captive born ones all over.

Ya I let it go. My brother was about to kill me for it too, but I don’t care. I don’t like hognose snakes all that well, and I would rather stick with my ball python and corn snake.
