Question?? Okay so I already have four other snakes, 3 corns and a Northern Pine. I was thinking about getting a hognose, I mean I don’t care about the appearance (obviously a healthy one but meaning coloration) anywhoo....there are a few different types to choose from. Eastern, Western, Mexican etc. I live in MA and want a snake that can deal with crazy New England weather, like corns and pines. Obviously I will have the ideal heating for it in its house, but whats your opinion? They seem pretty easy, I heard its a little hard to get them to eat mice, because they eat toads in the wild and all. Anyway any tips?? I mean I have all year until the next reptile show to think about this.

Question?? Western hognoses are the easiest to keep. If you buy from a breeder they will be started on mice, so feeding shouldn’t be hard. I got mine from a rescue at a few months old and he’s never turned down a meal in the 4 years I’ve had him.

Question?? Thats awesome, and I like the normal look. I mean my corns have some bright colors but for a hognose normal is good.

Question?? That picture of all 3 of them is cool. I have 8 corn snakes and a Colombian red tail boa. My only lizard is my crested gecko. I used to have more, but got downsized from a house to an apartment, so had to re-home a lot of my animal family. :-(

Question?? Thats too bad, sorry about that. Im just starting off with my collection. My smallest corn I am actually going to trade in for another one. He is an extreme problem eater, hasn’t ate for three weeks. I have tried everything. The breeder I am trading it for has like 80 corns, and really trust the baby in his hands. So hopefully all goes well.
