 Western hognose

Hey my name is matt and i am looking into a hognose. i just had a quick question, i think i remember hearing something about hognoses being picky eaters so if this is true what am i going to have to feed the little guy. thanks

A well started western hog on unscented pinky mice shouldn’t be any problem to feed...as long as the conditions (temp, humidity, habitat, etc.) are right. Make sure you do some research on proper care and setup first.
If you get one that isn’t well started though, then they can be tricky at first...but there’s no reason to buy one like that.

Just make sure that the one you get has been eating unscented rodents with a good feeding response.

ok thanks alot. I just met a breeder near by me. He seems like he knows his stuff and he offered me one for 50. im going to do some research then i might go ahead and get it.

Yeah, that’s a good price. I’d say that as long as you do plenty of research, go for it. They are such fun snakes to keep!

ok sweet. Yeah i know quite a bit about them because i was looking into one awile back but decided to go with something bigger. im not new to snakes either i have quite a few.
