New Crab, resulted in chirping and fighting

So my brother has had this crab thats been alone for a while now. His previous companions passed away, so i decided to get another one, since i know they shouldnt be kept alone. But when ours saw the new one, he pushed it over and the new guy started chirping. I dont know wat to do. Separate them, or let them work it out their own?

i dont think i have herd of chirping, but the best thing to do would be looking it up. it could also be their way of talking to each other.

Chirping means your crab is stressed. It’s possible that they will have to be separated for a while. Keep a close eye on them because a fight can mean death. A good trick is to give them each a bath (in dechlorinated water) so that they both smell the same.

Please check out the Hermit Crab Association. Everything you ever need to know about hermit crabs is there =) It saved the lives of my hermits. Here is a link
