White lined geckos and crested geckos

Can a white lined gecko and a crested gecko stay in the same cage.

I’d like to think not. A white-lined’s temps would eventually kill a crestie. That and while skunk geckos aren’t nearly as violent as their Tokay cousin, I would not risk the stress and territorial problems that you’re most likely going to face. Imagine being permanently locked in a bathroom with a gorilla.

Outside of that, Skunk geckos grow to be much bigger than cresties and I’m sure the parasites that may come with it would quickly put the crestie to rest.

The real answer is, "Do Not Mix Species."

On the by, as a little bit of information: The crested gecko was thought to be extinct in the world until 1994 when a very small population was stumbled upon after a tropical storm. Ever since, some were brought to captivity and bred - then eventually, after a successful boom, put into the pet industry. They’re listed as endangered in the wild still. Their number 1 enemy in the wild is the introduced fire ant.

If a crestie is ever owned by someone, I’d like for them to have this knowledge and keep their crested gecko in the best environment they can. They are owning a nice little lizard with a low temp threshold that - if they were never rediscovered and immediately protected - could very well have been wiped off this planet and would have never seen a remote chance of being in the pet trade. They may be one of the easiest, least expensive lizards to keep, but serious research should still be done before owning one.
