 Eggs and Incubation

Have a Leo that just started laying eggs. Her name is Dots and she layed 2 on July 31.One was removed due to the fact that she had crushed it while laying the 2nd egg.Currently I have a small round tupperware bowl with several holes pierced around the top for venting, and placed it over the egg..This is in the same housing with Dots and Flash(other leo).I want to know if this is suitable for the eggs and what other choices I have.Is there any other solution to incubate and protect that egg,and the others soon to follow ?Is there a web site I can go to and purchase an incubator or can I just leave it as is ? Thanks in advance.

ok, first you should try posting in the leopard gecko breeding forum. I wasnt even aware of this forum....What you need to do is tape up the holes. Use a .8 perlite to 1 water ratio to keep high humidity. Take the eggs out and keep them somewhere from 80-90 degrees. Anywhere constant like top of a closet. no point getting an incubator if you are gonna hatch out for one female even thought she could lay up to 20 eggs. Is there a laying box for your female? Is she alone in the tank? and what are your temps like? PM me if you need help. If not, I suggest going to Albey Scholl’s website for incubation help.

Hey, sorry for a repost here. I just read what you posted in another thread.
Ok, In her new tank, use either newspaper or papertowels. That would be ideal for a breeding female. That calcisand crap is a waste of money and will kill your leos. Use a large container that she can fit in a and move around easily and cut a hole at the top a bit bigger then her so she can get in. Fill it with moist damp moss. I use peat moss but other laying substrates work too. She will dig there when she needs to lay. Keep this humid hide over your heating device. ALWAYS have the temp inside this hide higher then 80. This will keep your eggs alive even if you get to them late. She will lay about once every 3 weeks so keep an eye out and watch for eggs. Remove the eggs into a small container with damp perlite or vermiculite. Some people mix these but Ive had success with just perlite. Keep the container closed with no holes and check weekly to circulate air. Your female should be fed more then normal with D3 calcium dust daily.
Do not listen to your pet store workers. Most of them are not breeders and have no idea what they talking about.
Anything you need to know is on the Leopard Gecko Breeding forum. I ve answered all the general questions on there if you just read through. There is also a good candling post in there. You can PM me or post in there if you need help. Goodluck with the eggs.
