I told you no. Separate them.

... She’s really laying eggs? Are you sure it’s not a poop/urate?

If she is, she’ll only lay two in one time.

Hahaha, calm down. Can you take a picture of her belly for me and post it up?

If there are two eggs in her, and she’s not actively laying them, it may be a while still. Just do what I told you in the last thread. She should also see a vet. And hopefully you’ve learned some lesson.

If this isn’t hype and she is gravid, she’ll make two eggs and lay them, then repeat every few weeks. She may do this until up to 16 are out. Be sure to fatten her up, give proper temps, all that good stuff.

And tell me how you set up the tank. The lack of an answer bugs me.

Oh, and if you haven’t set up an incubator and gone through all that to make proper temps, then simply break the eggs. They’re probably a bad batch anyway since the gecko is so young.

Constant temps are 75-80 degrees and there is fresh water on a daily basis.Right now she is resting on a bark next to the male(until the other tank arrives).

Should I just move the male to a new tank ? Let Dots stay where she is to keep her from being stressed ?

The temps should be 92 degrees on the warm side. The gecko will not be able to properly digest food otherwise. They are an arid, desert-dwelling species and need the hotter temps to survive.

The substrate (which is the bark I guess you’re talking about) should be papertowel, repticarpet, or something solid. Leopard gekcos eat the stuff they stand on, and that can lead to impaction. If it eats the bark, it can die. That’s a new worry entirely. The gecko may have an internal blockage instead of eggs. But hey, if you looked at the comparison photos, who am I to judge?

Do this:

10 gallon tank (or larger) per gecko. 3 hiding places per gecko. One hiding place should be on the hot side, one on the cold side, and a moist one (with damp papertowel/etc. This can also be the lay box) in the middle. Make the bedding solid. The options are usually papertowel, repticarpet, slate, tile, or non-adhesive shelf liner. Then, of course, the water dish.

You should have a digital thermometer measuring temps as the other thermometers can be off. They cost about 10 dollars. Simple reptile lamp, 40 to 60 watt bulb - and avoid those coil energy-saver bulbs as they don’t emit any heat.

You should have calcium supplements. JurassiCal (or one without d3) put in a small dish in the tank at all times. And calcium with d3/vitamins sprinkled on the food once to twice a week. The calcium is important to keep bones strong, the d3 helps metabolize the calcium (but too much of it can be toxic, which is why you only use it once a week), and the vitamins keep the leo healthy.

Change, buy, or do this stuff and I can promise you a healthier environment for your geckos.

Move dots. She’s going to be stressed anyway from the tank overhaul you may be doing and you want her in a cleaner environment.

Remove the calcium sand and never use it again. That stuff binds in the leo’s gut and impacts. It is currently the #1 killer of leopard geckos. Switch to papertowel for saftey.

3 hiding spots. The third is the moist hide, which is to help leos shed. You can use a small food container with a doorway cut in it for this. Put moist papertowel inside or, if you need that shedding box, put non-fertilized soil or verminculite in it. I feel like I’m repeating myself.

Read up, I told you what to do with the eggs.

Can you take that picture?

Well. For one, do you honestly want 16 hatchlings? Two, do you have an incubator and are you willing to buy individual tanks for the offspring? Three, some of the eggs are probably sterile anyway and will stink real bad if you leave them out. It’s not like you’re going to find baby chickens inside the eggs or anything. It takes a week or two for even the most basic veins to appear in the egg.

I pulled some pics off google to show you how the tank should look. Enjoy:

This one is a pic from a member of this very forum.

I would take pictures of my own leopard gecko tanks. But alas I am at work.

Okay I have a new 10gal tank, and after cosulting the records where I got Dots and Flash from.It turns out that they are 2yrs of age.No way to take a picture so my word will have to do.I see white formations in her belly and there is more to come.I was told to leave the eggs where they are and do nothing else by the reptile store where I purchased my geckos from.Just remove the eggs prior to hatch

You were using calcium sand, which is why I was worried. Calcisand is some horrible stuff. It isn’t digestible, clogs the system, dyes the gecko, holds huge amounts of bacteria, and encourages the gecko to eat it. Worst of all is how the bag lies right on the cover of it, occasionally has a gecko on it, and is considerably misleading. I really wish they would ban that stuff from the market. Notice how those tanks I used as examples do not have loose substrate.

Learning that your geckos are 2 years of age is fantastic news. Sure puts a load off my mind, anyway.

I’m also glad you bought the tank and stuff immediately. You have no idea how many members argue the point and do nothing.

If the eggs hatch in tank, the female will eat the hatchlings. Fair warning. The female may crush the eggs simply by walking over them.

So long as you adjust your tank settings to the stuff I described before, stick a laybox in there, keep your gecko plump, and amp those temps to 92F, you should be better in the long run.

Took a small round tupperware bowl and pierced some dime sized holes around the top.Placed it over the egg to protect it from crushing. Is this safe ? I am currently looking on the web for an incubator for usage and if any advice is to be had, would be very much appreciated. Also, roughly how long before it takes for hatching ?
