What species of gecko?

You say they get along fine, but a male will undoubtedly harass a female constantly for sex - and this is especially dangerous if they are under a year old since eggbinding is a common deadly problem with young females. Ie, she is forced to make eggs far too early and they get stuck in her. Consider getting her her own tank and seeing a vet.

Oh yes, you will have to seperate them. Male leos, once reaching maturity, are KNOWN for harassing females for sex. This is especially bad if you only have one male and one female, as the male will constantly pick on her.

If I were you, I’d go out today and get a cheap 10 gallon tank or Sterylite container. Then pray that your female isn’t producing eggs at that early age. Eggbinding is serious business and can result in the death of your animal. It’s entirely preventable by keeping young females (or females under 50 grams) away from males.

To prevent stress, keep them separated indefinitely. If you want to breed (and that’s 16 eggs per female a season, so think very long before you do it), try keeping more than one adult female with a male so the male isn’t picking on only one, then separate the male when the females become gravid.

If your gecko doesn’t eat past 10 days, see a vet.

Is death imminent if she is pregnant at this age ? Is there anything that can help if she is carrying eggs and how will I know if she is ?

Eggbinding will result in death. There would be eggs growing in there and they would not be able to leave. Imagine that one for yourself. If they do not leave the gecko, a vet would have to cut the gecko open to remove them - and reptiles do terribly when put under.

However, eggbinding will not conclusively happen 100% of the time, it’s just more common in young females since their bodies are too small to successfully deliver eggs. Your female may not even be gravid. I’m simply going on about how bad it could be by having the two together. The male would be picking on the female and trying to make out with her all the time, and it’s not like the female can leave the room on her own. You’re lucky that the male hasn’t bitten/caused damage to the female yet in lust.

See if it’s not simply stress or something else first. Give the female her own tank. Give her a day or two to settle in. Try feeding again. She may eat fine when away from the male. While she’s alone, monitor her poop. If it’s diarrhea or un-solid, it could be parasites. If you’re only feeding one insect such as crix or mealies, switch to the other and see if that doesn’t help.

If she is gravid, you will notice over the next few weeks when her mid-section gets noticeably larger and you can see one or two oval-sized white objects on her belly. You can see photos of gravid leos on google by typing in ’gravid leopard gecko’ for comparison. If she actually is going to make eggs, and remember that there’s a chance that she may not be gravid at all, you will need to add waxworms to her diet, around 3 a week or more if she looses weight. Give her more calcium and more vitamins. Supply her with a lay box (like a moist hide, but with unfertilized potting soil or vermiculite to dig in) to help stimulate the laying process - but once again only do so if you’re 100% positive that she has eggs in her. You don’t want her being fine and accidentally eating the dirt on you =P.

Besides all that, tell me how you set up the tank. The temps and all that. I’ll help you over other matters if I see anything out of place.
