 Need Identification of gecko

I recently purchased this gecko at a reptile shop and I was told it was maybe an asian species of leopard gecko or cave gecko. It’s body is smooth unlike that of a leopard gecko however.

Look up various species of Goniurosaurus (or other various species of cave gecko [or Chinese cave gecko]) until you find the correct one.

Please do at least two months of research and set up the tank a week ahead of time before getting any lizards. This is the life of a delicate creature placed into your hands and you need to know exactly how they are supposed to live before you make any purchases.

Looks like a velvet gecko (sp. Oedura castelnaui) to me.

Here is a picture of one:



Apparently these geckos have retractable claws.

That is without a doubt an Oedura sp. but I’m not sure which. Any type are generally speaking a little pricier, so if they had no idea what they were doing you probably got it for a steal of a price.

I would agree Oedura. Can you get a look at his toes? Does he have little sticky toe pads? What do they look like. That can help you in identification too.

Not sure maybe a rare coloration of a fat tailed gecko, or a tiger gecko
