 Gecko Binge eating

Hello All, I was just wondering if anyone else’s gecko is binge eating at this time of year? My gecko doesn’t normally eat too much and now she is eating like CRAZY like 18 crickets a night. She usually eats only about 24 for the week since she’s an adult(3 years old) and she’s by herself in her tank. Is it possible she’s binge eating for burmation even though she hasn’t done it before ??

its in their nature to increase their eating at this time of year cuz of them going into thier winter state its normal but if your going to winter her dnt feed her for 2 weeks and then let her be but if your not going to winter her then just feed her the normal amount of crickets

Ya we will be going into a good old Canadian winter probably soon going by the weather LOL. I just found it strange that she’s never done this before(3 years)...I guess my little baby is growing up and maturing. Thanks again

Since you have snakes to can I ask you another question??

I have a Anyerythristic/black corn snake at my work and I just got it in on wed and typically my snakes eat right away but not this guy, we’ve tried baby pinkies(frozen ’cause that’s all I can feed) I even cut the pinkie in half hoping the scent of blood would grab it’s attention, I’ve made the pinkie hot and I’ve made it cool as well hoping the temperatues would help. do you think soaking ti in chicken broth would help?? it’s a very young snake probably only about 6-8 inches long and quite small in diameter. It’s tank is perfectly fine and the heat is maintained. It’s CB too
What do you think???

Thanks again

I’m in Toronto..You???

I tried rubbing some shaving of a hamster on the pinkie but once again it refused...It’s so fustrating ’cause I’ve never had this problem before, even my ball python ate right away and they are known to be picky eaters.
