 Just some pics...

Well, these forums are always extremely slow, so I figured I’d just post some pics of a couple of my Gargoyles for people who aren’t too sure about them or what they are.... Plus I’m bored :)...

This is my most recent one, didn’t take too many pics because I don’t want to mess with him too much for the first couple of weeks...

She’s not even fully fired up in this pic... She gets very bright red/orange, awesome looking gecko.

I got this male from Anthony Caponetto, very nice suprise when I saw him, I don’t have any recent pictures, but when he gets fired up, the orange stripes are awesome! I can’t wait to see what I can get out of this male and the red/orange female above...

Gargoyles are a cool, fun gecko, not as many colors and patterns as you can get with crested geckos, but there are some amazing looking gargoyles out there.

I don’t have any pics of the tanks at the moment. I want to take a ton of pics of everything one of these days, I have very few updated pics of anything.

What type of substrate do you use?

I just use newspaper for my geckos. I don’t like taking the chance with any loose substrate unless I have a cage on display. In that case, I would use eco earth with a little bit of sand mixed in for drainage. I don’t really like using papertowels either personally, they tend to stick to the bottom of the cage if they dry out in certain spots and sometimes can just be a pain.

Have you tried paper you put in your printer? I know a person that does it.

I also have some crested geckos and these guys look interesting. Are they just as handleable as crested geckos are?

I have used printer paper, that was actually pretty good as well. But as of now I’m getting newspaper for free and works just as good, so that’s why I’m using that. Gargoyles are pretty good with handling, although I’ve noticced that if they aren’t held much they can be quite a bit more flighty and faster than a Crested that isn’t held much. But my Gargoyles are just as good as my Cresteds.
