 Should i get one?

Im looking for a new type of gecko to get my cousin into. She helps take care of all my animals but loves my leopard geckos. Shes planning to take over this years breeding season and i told her that if she is responsible with it and manages well that i will get her a new gecko.

Are these a good starter geckos? I have a looot of animals and i dont exactly want to get her a gecko that takes up alot of time. I also want a gecko that can be handeled sometimes. Please let me know asap.
thanks
xoLeah

I would say get her a crested they "like" to be held more than a gargoyle gecko dues.

I gone through.
Golden geckos- get stressed when held
Tokays- agressive and dont like being held
Gargs- not the best to handle

and im in the process of looking for someone with day geckos. Im also interested in knob tails.

First off, I want to thank S. for putting "’s on the word like. I HATE it when people say that any reptiles LIKES to be held. Reptiles tolerate being held, they are not cats, they do not cuddle, they do not care about you! They may like the warmth from your body, but that’s about it.

I have not had a single problem with my gargoyle geckos being held, mine are just as calm as my cresties. BUT, I would definately recommend getting a crested as a first Rhac. They are just the best Rhacs to start out with IMO.

I entirely understand that any rep. dosent enjoy being held. I just dont want to get her something that has to stay in a cage 24-7 or else it will get stressed and die x.x
Yeah i was thinking of just getting her another leo but i want to broaden the reptile horizon lol. Who knows, im also looking into a day gecko or maybe getting her a male rabbit so she can breed bunnies insted. idk.

thanks

Oh no, I wasn’t saying anything against you for the holding and such... just had to say something about the "s because so many people think their reptiles like them and hold them way too much because they think they like it.
Day geckos are pretty, but they are FAST... that is for the most part a look only gecko.
