thanks if i can get ppl going to other sites and asking around we can all get more answers because the only way to be a responsible pet owner is to keep your self well informed and if this is damaging in any way and causes problems we all need to know as much as posibble

you should always quarantine your animals. This is a reason why.

i compleatly agree but i purchased this animal from a pet store because of his high quality markings and later realized that the tail had a problem i assumed that it was old dry shed that she couldent get rid of ! so my question still stands dose any one have any information on this curious fungus? the only other option has been to pull tails! rather disgusting if you ask me and thats why i went the vet visit route and topical and oral treatment!

yes its baby food when i bring a new little guy into my collection for the first three days or so i like to baby them with plain baby food and cince this one had a fungus i dident want to use any of my bowls so i put it pn a small sheet of plastic and gramma its rather new a few large scale breeders have got it and are trying to get rid of it ! but not by treating the animals but by selling them and possibly infecting other colonies! it leads to dropping of the tail and iv actually heard of other complications too! its verry noticible and almoast looks like un shed skin! keep an eye on your animals ppl!

Would you say that the best time to notice this fungus would be right after shedding? I mean if I KNOW that my crested just shed, and it still looks like there is something there, itll probably be fungus? ive got 10 days left on the stores Garantee policy... Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this before too late, and after the policy runs out, Ill still keep it, Is there a way to cure this fungus, is it treatable, or is it terminal???

if you got him at pet co or pets mart alot of times they will pay for a vet visit go iquire about it say it looks alot like fungus and tell them you want a vet visit and also to inform them if the little guy had any cage mates! then the vet should check it out if it is fungus its curable my little guy is almoast perfect now! and if not hell be able to tell !
