 Crested geckos

They are a colder-weather gecko and can overheat if the tank goes much above 80F for an extended period. I think 82 is the limit. Someone correct me if my information is out of date.

They are mostly herbivorous/fruit-eating in nature and can survive off of a specially made Crested Gecko Diet (CGD), which you can readily get at the pet store. Too much protein is bad.

They are one of the most tolerant of geckos out there and can be handled without too much hassle. However once their tail comes off, it will not grow back.

Those were the main three I can remember off hand. Cresties are one of the three beginner lizards (leopard gecko and bearded dragon are the other two) because of their diet, lack of major heating requirements, and handleable nature.

KrazyKelli pretty much said it all! Those are really the only things to worry about. You dont need any lighting since they are nocturnal, you need a tall enclosure, keep the humidity between 60 and 80% by misting twice a day (Making sure to mist heavily at night), and provide plenty of plants and climbing places. They are super easy, super friendly, and super cute! Hope you enjoy yours as well!!

is’nt it better for them not to have their tails because that way they cant get hip dysplacia from hanging upside down on the glass
