Crested gecko scale rot? Help Please!!

I’ve had my Gecko for almost 2 years now and I decided to upgrade her substrate to Eco Earth a couple of days ago. I’ve now found this scary thing growing and I found some mold in the earth when I was cleaning it. I’m switching back to paper towels at the moment but what is it and what can I do?!Picture

Geckos don’t have scales so I assure you that’s not what it is.
Mold is common with the humidity, just clean it as often as you need to.

Geckos do have scales, just finer ones than many other reptiles. Check out a good close-up image of their skin. They are modified scales, not like those of a snake, but keratinous nonetheless.
