I have a Crested Gecko (Elvis) and im starting to notice that he is not eating....we have a idea why because he is getting bored of usual mango and cgd and occational crickets (which he is no longer interested in) so if you guys could maybe list some ideas why he might not be (did i mention he got lost out of his cage and foudn him 1 night and a half later) or any tasty Crested Gecko diets or recipes thanks

what are the temps in his cage? if the temps are dropping for the cold months, which is natural, then your gecko may be going into brumation for the winter, when they typically start eating less and moving less and often become lethargic.

if your temperatures have remained constant, then keep an eye on him. if he stops eating completely it might be something more than just being bored. i cant really see a crestie becoming bored of his food when you’re giving him more than just one food type. i suppose its possible. you could try giving him feeder roaches, but since he needs CGD for proper nutrition, you could try the two-part diet at pangea reptile (.com). that way you can try a couple different flavors and make sure he’s still getting proper nutrition.

i’d get him another thermometer if i were you. cresties thrive at room temp, but if it drops too low they become lethargic and will not eat.

if you dont notice him losing weight you can probably skip the vet for now, but if he refuses food and starts getting skinny you’ll need to take him in.

could you elaborate? you cant just give them a bunch of fruit to eat, they have to be getting the right amounts of d3 and calcium and thats hard to do if they’re only eating fruit.
