 LOTS O’ Questions!

My cresty just turned a year old about a week ago, I am just wondering if he/she up to speed with his/her growth
he/she is 13.7 grams
here are a few pics






I was also wondering if the cage was appropriate:






Coco-fiber substrate, plastic plants, a piece of driftwood & some moist moss for shedding

And another question:
A red thing popped out above his/her tail, very small, then went back in.
what is it and why did it come out
here are some pics, not very good though, but you can see the red thing in the first pic.

looks good. what size cage is that? he might need a bigger cage eventually.

i believe that the red thing was his guy parts. you will have to get an experts opinion on that tho.

that cage is 18" x 18" x 24"
Yea I am getting a baby next week, and was thinking of putting the baby in this cage and getting a bigger cage for my current one
Yea that’s what i was thinking off to but there is barley a buldge

thats a growth chart that i found... what are u feeding ur little guy?? if ur feeding baby food growth rate will be a lot slower because its not good for them. if feeding CGD which is highly recommended the growth rate should match the chart... ur little guy is small...

oh okay. i thought it was the 12x12x18 cage. it just looked small in the pics. that is a fine size for up to 2 adults.

your guy is a little small but do not worry about it. my gecko is 10 months old and only around 15g. i think it is because he had to take meds at an early age because of parasites.

like all animals some just grow slower than others. as long as your feeding him Crested Gecko Diet MRP its fine. also if you are only feeding MRP he will grow slower than a gecko being fed regular crickets and MRP.

ever since he was a baby i have been feeding only crickets, i just started feeding CGD last week, and i am still feeding crickets.

the red thing you’re talking about, it was coming out of his vent? that means one of two things, he’s having a rectal prolapse or close to having one, or he so stressed he basically almost gave himself one.

if it went back in thats good, i’d leave him alone as much as possible so that he doesn’t do that again. it’s happened with one of my tokays and i think what it is is that they tried so hard to poop on you that they did that.
