 Considering Crested Geckos

After researching off and on for a couple of years now, I’ve narrowed my choice of reptiles down to the crested gecko.
Several reasons led to this decision...
#1) space factor - I live in a condo and "up" is always the best when living in close quarters.
#2) dietary needs - I’m not keen on the crickets-in-the-house aspect of reptiles and the fact that the crested diet consists of a variety of fruits/veggies and insects makes it slightly more appealing to feed
#3) temperature and lighting requirements are relatively simple as my apartment is well heated and a Uromastyx tank would set the temperature soaring!
Now my question is...What would be the optimum ratio of crickets per gecko per week and what would the minimum be. Are protein supplements sufficient with the occasional live treat or is the hunt/prey factor an important issue?
