Might be getting a crestie! A few Q’s

Hello! I’ve been looking around to see what i can add to my collection and i’ve been looking at cresties. I know i should be checking out caresheets, but my personal opinion is that you can read many different caresheets and get different answers from them and some questions may not even be answered in them. So i personally prefer to ask the experts themselves.

Whats the best size accommodation for a crestie?

Could i house two together?

What kind of lighting/heating is required?

What are temps and humidity?

what are their temperaments?

If there’s anything i haven’t asked, that seems an important bit of info on them, it would be appreciated to let me know everything there is to know about them!

Might be getting a crestie! A few Q’s

you need at least a 20 gallon tall tank for an adult crestie. plus 10 gallons per crestie added. (30 gallon for 2 cresties, 40 gallon for 3 cresties, ect)

multiple females could go together. multiple juvis could go together untill they become mature and then if you have any males they must be seperated.

no heating or lighting is required as long as your house is the right temp. i use compact florescent lights for my tank so i can see in to them and so that the cresties have a good day/night cycle

temps should be in the 70s, no lower than 65 and no higher than 85. humidity should be around 75% and go up to 95% or higher when you mist once a day. let the humidity get back down to 75% before you mist again.

young geckos tend to be flighty but as they get older they get calmer to the point they will tolerate short handling sessions.

if i think of anything else ill post again. for now im just answering your questions.
