Is this a garter snake? If not what is it?

I found this little guy when I was mowing and I want to know if I can handle him. I used to own a snake and I love them. Will he bite or not? I would like a care sheet if you have one thanks.
btw i live in dallas texas area.

Looks like a Lined Snake, though I could be wrong. They’re related to Garter Snakes and are pretty harmless.

Yeah if you get a snake I would defiantly suggest a garter or corn snake (red rat snake) they airsoft eboth very docile and will rarely bit anything they cant eat... careshhet for almost all smaller snakes is one properly sized prey item once a week, fresh water, at least a 20 gallon aquarium and in your area you would even need a light just a window
