 New snake

This evening I was taking my dog for a walk when I saw this cute little garter snake, so I took him home. Do all baby garter snakes have black heads or is it a black headed garter snake?

Never mind, it doesn’t matter I let him go because he wouldn’t eat.

Why not get a captive bred one so that it is more used to people and less stressed out. Less of a chance of it dying of stress and parasites that way. I am all for herping on the trail- but personally for animals to be left wild whenever they can be to eat pests and live life helping balance the ecosystems they live in.

I never really keep the WC’s for very long I just like to observe them. I am going to hopefully get a captive bred next time probably an albino checkered garter.
