2 of my ribbon snakes died in 1 day because i think of food poisoning. the minnows i got from the stream i think had some really bad parasites or poisoning and made my 2 out of 3 ribbon snakes die because they died a day after they had a big meal of minnows. but i caught an eastern garter and i still have my 3rd ribbon, although the people who looked after him got him malnourished and i can feel his tail bone.

UHHHH, i mean did you EXAMINE THE UNDERBALLY when it died.
some of mine that die sometimes have bezare things on their belly... which can lead you to the cause of death
