 What kinda snake is this

I don’t have a picture so im gonna try and be descriptive as possible, the other day when i was goin outside to scrub my pool i noticed some kinda black snake just chillin in the corner of my screen encolsure when i went to go pick it up with the net we have it opened its mounth at me started rattling his tail at me i looked at his tail and he didnt have a rattle on it. i eventually grabbed it behind its head and let him go in my backyard. it was easily a 3 foot long snake. So anyone know what it might be?

Dependng where you live (Florida in your profile) it could be a Pine Snake, Mexican Black Kingsnake, or some type of Gopher/Bull snake...all black or slightly black with spots or stripes? I live on the West Coast som I can’t help you that easily

its most likely a black rat.
they almost always shake their tails like that. its a very common snake and make great captive pets to
nice find
