 New babies...help!

Hi,

A week ago my boyfriend and I bought a green ribbon and set it up in it’s new home all nice and comfy.
Unbenounced to us, she had apparently bred before we bought her because when we checked on her this morning and there were little baby snakies crawling all over the habitat! How awesome is that?!? :)

What we need help with is what we should get for food for the babies. Mom loves her feeder fish and crickets, but we haven’t the foggiest idea if the babies can handle the feeders.
They are about 3-4 inches long already so I am guessing that they are a few days to a week old (sad testiment on how observant we are though, that we only noticed them today! lol) Also, we are only able to count about 7 of them but I’ve read that a "normal" clutch is around 20, are they canibalistic, and should we seperate the babies from mom?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats, baby ribbons will take feeder fish, you will be surprised just how big of a meal the can manage.

It is very rare that a mother will eat her babies. Just because a normal litter is 20 doesnt mean anything. If it was her first litter they normally never hit that many. And just sometimes they just produce smaller litters. It would be a good idea to seperate them.

good luck
