 Found a worm snake... need some advice on the care.

Hi, today i found what looks to be a worm snake. He has a bright pink belly and a brownish grey top. and the smallest head i have ever seen. and is about 12 or 13 inches long. I cant get any pictures of him now, but i am pretty sure he is a worm snake (because of pics on the internet). Right now i have him in a mixture of reptile mulch and eco-earth dirt. He burrows all the way to the bottom and i have like 5 inches of it in there. i will get some red wiggler worms from the pet shop tomorow. he has no light but a very small heating pad. He is in a 10 gallon tank. and a shallow water bowl is in there but he hasnt gone in it yet. please tell me if this is ok or not for him to live in.

the problem with those snakes is that you cant feed them propperly in captivity.
He will be better off in the wild
thankyou for caring for this animal. I am glad you want the best for it. but I think the best for it is back where you found it,,,Good Luck!

i heard red wrigglers can be bad for your snake anyways.

feed it a big variety of insects and arthropods,especially worms i heard. also stack up rocks so it can hide in the crevaces if it feels like it.


better off to just let it go.

thanks for the advice guys, i went back to the place that i found it and let it go... she had about 7 eggs that were in her stomach that i could see. so i just placed her back right were i found her because i think she might have a nest there or something. thanks again, Tyler G

I had 2 of those guys once and they didn’t make it even though they were surrounded by food.
