 Danny hasn’t been eating

My ribbon hasn’t been eating after a little less than a month. I just moved him out of a really hot room and his UTH wasn’t working for a bit, but hopefully after he gets settled with the new room and his heat back, he’ll eat again. How fat should he be for a snake roughly 2 ft. long? Mines about an inch at middle and to me he looks a little chubby. It looks like he would not have to eat for a least few week still. Thanks, Alec

Sometimes snakes just decide to go on a little hunger strike, its usually because of bad husbandry (like you said) with his temps being out of wack, or if hes getting ready to shed, sounds like hes a good size, so I wouldn’t worry, just keep offering food at your regular feeding days.

Well he always has food, right now I have 4 fish that haven’t been eaten still alive and well. I feed the fish and change the water so hopefully he’ll get back into fedding again. For some reason the UTH isn’t working right. I tried pluggin it into 5 different holes but they don’t seem to work. My other snakes UTH is working...hmmm, i’ll get another one. I hope he isn’t feeling to bad. Thanks, Alec

 Danny hasn’t been eating

Still hasn’t been eating, I have tried to show him his water bowl, but again, he likes to warm up under his log. It’s always between 67 or 68 to 74 degrees so he shouldn’t have a problem. I have a screen top, is humidity a big thing to cover with Ribbon snakes? He is still plumpish, but not fat. He’s still pretty healthy to the look of it, but who knows. Humidity?

Humidity isn’t too big of a deal, try to make a hot side of around 85 degrees and a cool side of around 75. Don’t feed wild caught frogs or toads if you can help it, they are loaded with parasites that can kill your snake. If your ribbon is around 1 inch at the middle, it has plenty of size on it and it should be fine for a while longer still.

VERY good news...and bad depending on what you take it as. He ate both pinkie mice I put in his cage one scented and the other not. He ate them within like 15 mins because I went upstairs for a little bit and my mum checked it for me and said "what mice?" so there it is...Thanks again, Alec
