Hand Feed Guppies for my new baby

Hello Everyone: I just wanted to let everyone know got to hand feed my baby garter. It ate 4 small guppies. I was glad this little one took them. I had them in a bowl for 4 days and it wouldnt eat them.
If I hand feed it for a few times will it eat on its own later. I don’t want my baby garter to die.

It should start eating on its own, now it knows how yummy those fish are, the sight and smell of them should trigger its feeding response next time. You can also offer it worms, mine loves night crawlers, you can get them from a bait shop or from your own garden. Just keep offering them in the dish first, give it time and quiet to eat on its own, and if not you can always feed it by hand or with tongs. Don’t worry its not going to starve. Its eating now so your off to a good start! Garter snakes are fun little snakes, its funny to watch them go fishing in their water dish, or slurp up the worms like spaghetti.
