 Mystery frog

hey I caught this frog at the creek a couple weeks ago, I don’t know what kind it is, but I can describe it for you: it’s body is light brown with pine green blotches every here and there, if you flip it over or if you look at it when it hops you can see yellow along it’s legs and around it’s stomach area. it has gold eyes and you can quickly tell it is a tree frog. my only guess is an Arizona tree frog since I live in Arizona.thanks!

Is it this? (Lowland burrowing treefrog, Smilisca fodiens)

Please disregard that last identification -- the species I mentioned is very localized in the US, being found only in Pima County. Further research has led me to believe beyond the shadow of a doubt, that what you have is a canyon treefrog (Hyla arenicolor) which is grayish or tan dorsally with scattered greenish spots, has a yellow or orange wash around the groin, and is common throughout most of Arizona.

I also found some tadpoles in the same area as the frog do you think the tadpoles will turn into canyon tree frogs?

Probably so... but it could also be another species if there are others in your area... Maybe you might want to collect some and try to raise them to see what type of frog they become...
