I need help w/ eggs wrong forum?

It rained very heavily about 5 days ago. So today I went golfing and the course is soaked, but I play free on thursdays so I don’t really care. On the 8th hole I found some frog eggs. I could only save about 5-10. they were in a temporary pond, created by the rain. I am going to ask the pro shop if I could get the rest tomorrow. now bear in mind that I have no idea what I am doing. I scooped them up into a half filled water bottle.

It was a bit colder than the water the eggs were in. I finished playing the last hole, and was driven home. All I had to put them in was a 10g tank (coldwater 68-72 F). There are fish in there (it was ALL that I had). There is one comet gold fish about 4 in in length (it is awaiting transfer to a pond), and 2 guppy/endler’s mutts that had developed tail rot (there used to be a heater in it, but it broke).

On second thought I have a small, small 2.5-5 g tank and a filter. So how long until hatching, and where should I release the tadpoles? Into a lake? Into a stream? Into a stream close to a lake or far away? I just want to help them.

if one of your fish has tailrot, I would clean the water, fish only get tail rot in poor water conditions, when the eggs hatch you should go to the tadpole forum.

I would keep them out of the fish tank because they will eat the eggs once they figure out that it’s some tasty food. Release them into the closest water source to where you found them. They’ll have a better chance in an environment their mother thought was good.
