 Water Chemistry help!!!?

What is the best way to lower my carbonate harness? right now it is 22.4 dKH or 400 ppm. my pH is 8.2. my gH is pretty low. I have used well water and RO water. any input would be apreciated.

Thanks

Well i would just use ro water. Well water can contain high amounts of metals and whatnot.
That will help for starters. If you do have to use well water, use a water conditioner and let it sit for at least an hour before adding it to your tank.

You want to lower your dKH slowly, so you don’t crash your tank and kill everything.
I am not sure if you have a sw tank or a fw tank. But i am going to assume fw since you mentioned gH.

Now, I have used different methods for lowering dKH in reef tanks by using baking soda diluted in RO water.

Heres a link that will help you out :)
Good luck!
