 Beginner Help

I have a 15 gallon tank and i was wondering what would be some good beginner freshwater tropical fish. I really like chiclids but i’m pretty sure i need bigger than a 15 gallon to house them. By the way i would like to have at least 3 fish

..You could house a pair...a pair as in only two...Convict Cichlids in a 15 gallon. Otherwise, Dwarf Gourami’s are compatible, guppies, Skirt, neon, etc Tetra’s are all good...

It all depends what type of tank you want. If you get a platy, don’t get any catfish. Do you want brackish freshwater? Brackish is you adding aquarium salt. Aquarium salt is bad for some catfish like the corydora.

In my twenty gallon, I have a gourami, guppies, and tetras, and a few corydoras. Gourami’s are supposed to be agressive, or semi-agressive tropical fish but mine is rather content and hasn’t shown any agression towards the other fish. They’ve been in their setup for about 2 years? It works out perfect because the Gourami and sometimes the tetra will actually eat most of the young the Guppie’s produce...

Okay thanks. Brackish only requires a small amount of salt every water change right?
