My little guy, sorry the pics are not that great he moves fast and the camera picked up some water drops on the glass. Hope you enjoy them though.

Awesome! (I think the pics are clear, too. LOL) How long is he? I’ve always thought bichir’s are pretty cool.

Bichirs are great fish! So friendly. I had one that would try to propel itself out of the water to grab cubes of tubifex worms out of my fingers.

Aha. Sneaky guy, stalking the poor little fish. ;)

What tank size do you keep him in?

Happy New Year (Even if it’s a little late!), BTW!

For now he is in a 10 gallon until he gets big enough to deal with the cichlids in the 55. Then I have a 75 that my Iguana is in. I figure that will be perfect for him when he is full grown. He just ate his first minnow yesterday too. He is getting really good at fishing and has doubled in size since I got him.

I have one ten gallon community tank. I wish I had a bigger size tank (so I could keep bigger fish), but I don’t, so my biggest fish is a cory cat. But they’re all great fish and they’re very colorful.

Oh that’s great! Does he just like chase his food, or sneak up on it, or how?

He does a little of both. He will chase them at first then he stalks them.

Cute senegal bichir!! Bichirs are one of my favorite species of tropical fish. They can live for up to 3 hours out of water! lol People always ask why I have a lizard with fins in my tank.
