 REALLY strange goldfish behavior..

Ok I have one adult comet goldfish (like 7-8 inches long) and a few smaller common goldfish (2-3 inches) and they are acting so different. One of my common ones is chasing my big fish for whatever reason. Like it’ll be RIGHT at her side/underneath her and chasing her throughout the 55 gallon tank. It seems like they are tiring her right out, after they’re done chasing her she’ll stay at a corner or lay at the bottom of the tank looking exhausted. Not only her but the common ones are chasing each other! I don’t get it, I mean is that some sort of mating ritual or something? It doesn’t seem to be mating season for them. Or is it because there is a full moon out? I don’t know, but it’s concerning me and my mom a bit. I’ve never seen them chase each other so aggressively like that, I’ve had them for years. Can you guys give me any suggestions as to why they are acting like this?

Goldfish and famcy fish breeding season is in Spring and to breed them is highly difficult i myself have successfully bred 2 generation of Black Moor and have managed to get a female RBP (red belly Pirahna) pregnant twice but they have died fue to territorial (they defend there nest to there death) the sounds of it just seems like common coldwater fish bullying it generally is larger fish bullying the smaller inmates - for there size, slower swimmers, longer fins, short fins, goggly eyes etc etc etc but the tables can turn and smaller fish can bully there larger buddys

Thanks guys xD.
They’re done ’fighting’ now, I had to end up take the two out and put them in a seperate tank as a sort of ’time out’ thing, and they’ve gone back to normal after I put them back in. It was weiirrdd, I’ve never seen them do that before. They were like swimming right next to her underneath to her belly, they weren’t really pushing or nipping her that much or anything. Must’ve been that full moon or something xD. No cloudy water just to let you know though.

Weather you have a Caiman i do not no but if you do you should be aware Goldfish along with Koi are fattening and lack in nutrients, perhaps look at chicken meat -uncooked carcasses, thigh, breast etc

Ok I lied xD.
Right after I posted that they were ok they started doing it again. They don’t seem to be doing it right at this moment but I’ll still be keeping an eye out for them. I mean I don’t recall goldfish having any kind of intentional aggression, do they? They are all in a 55 gallon tank and it seems to be pretty well sized for them :/
