 Buried more than 24 hours

Our male fence lizard buried himself during the day yesterday, leaving 5 uneaten crickets in the cage, and hasn’t come out yet. Cage environment is acceptable based on what I’ve read here; he is a desert lizard and shows no interest in water although we still keep a damp corner in the cage. We’ve had him a few months, caught in the back yard, apparently in the prime of life. Should I dig him out? Is he too cold? He has heat lamp, UVB, and sunlight, but we’ve had more cloudy days lately than he’s ever seen in his life, which is to say, several (like I said, desert)...

Found the earlier thread: http://www.repticzone.com/forums/FenceLizards/messages/2199331.html

I guess that this crazy El Nino weather that we’re having has driven him underground.
