 Parvovirus

My 4 month old [uppy has parvo and I wanted to know if any of you guys had or have a dog with parvo and what you did to help. We are giving him IV fluids from my house given to me from the vet and we go every day to give him shots for his vomiting.

Thanks

all you have to do is make sure he stays hydrated. Along with the Iv from the vet try making him drink fluids every 30 min or so. Gatorade is good to keep them hydrated if he wont drink water and it helps with other vitamins he will need. I wish you the best of luck and hope he/she makes it alright

Just try and force it in his mouth, maybe with like a turkey baster fill it up and put it far in his mouth with his head tilted back so he has to swallow it. Im not sure about baby food when my lil ones had parvo i pored chicken broth on to their dog food so it was a lil more intising to them. baby food im sure would give him the runs even more and wouldnt help the matter if he wont eat if you have a blender take a few things like cooked beef and veggies and make your own "baby" food that way its a little easier on his stomach.

 Parvovirus

My first dog every got parvo from eating the cat poop out of the litter box when i was 13 yrs old. He was a keeshond/samoyed mix...we had him at the vet for a week they were giving him heavy meds and fluid. before he came home we had to bleach and hot water the entire house to kill any virus lingering..he made a full recovery!

thats good to hear it is very common for them to pull threw the virus. Parvo lives in the ground as well our puppies got it and we hade to go out back and bleach Everything and i mean everything we killed the grass dumbed bleach and where the dogs to get to kill any sign of it. its a nasty sickness.

I see that this post is about a month old but I have been through a litter that came down with Parvo so if anyone might need some advice, please message me! I would not want anyone to have to go through it! How is your puppy, I pray she made it through
