 Horseshoe crabs

i caught a male and female adult (yes, the female is BIG) horseshoe crabs and even after i caught them, the male is still wanting to mate with the female and won’t let go. i have them in a big saltwater/brackishwater rubbermaid with sand mixed with oyster shells and seaweed from where i found them.
i have only been able to find limited information on how to care for horseshoe crab eggs if the female does lay eggs and, actually, i’ve only found out that they have been hatched in captivity and grown into adults. so anyone know any info on this subject of breeding horseshow crabs?
also, how large should their tank be? i have them in a large rubbermaid. i might get them a pond soon though.
