 Cricket breeding substrate

yes to both

wet sand is also used

eco earth wet coconut

and plain old clean dirt can be used...but probably the hardest of the bunch to maintain the proper moisture in...

 Cricket breeding substrate

Sorry about resurrecting this thread but I have a question about this subject. I am using substrate from the pet store. The crickets immediately started laying in it so I know its usable. My question is, when adding water to the substrate to moisten it, can I stir it without damaging the eggs inside? I am completely new to this and want to avoid any mistakes that will cost me batches. Thanks in advance.
