I got my female corn snake as a two month old hatchling and she is the only snake I own, so she’s never been with a male snake since I got her. She’s about two years old now. A couple days ago she laid a clutch of eggs which I assumed were infertile. However, I candled some of the plumper white ones today just to check, and 4 of them have definite red veins in them!

Could infertile eggs still have veins? Could my female have reproduced asexually? Could she have mated at less than two months old before I got her?

It’s pretty warm at my home currently and I have the eggs wrapped in some damp paper towels, but should I bother to actually try to build an incubator for them?
