 My new setup

This is my new Mayan/Aztec Jungle setup for a baby corn. I don’t have the corn yet because I don’t want to ship them in the cold weather. Im going to get a snow corn though.

35G ExoTerra Critter cage
Undertank heater with thermostat
Tropic Aire Humidifier
18" Plant and aquarium bulb with 0800-2000 timer

The Mayan Dog thing is the hot hide, and the tree is the cold hide... The tank is designed to be torn down and sanitized weekly. The plants are great stuffed into the tree and all the plants are plastic not fabric, this way they can be bleached.

Nice setup. I would reccommend using aspen instad of the turf since it allows the snake to burrow and is easier to clean.

I like the mats because they insulate the snake from the heat mat, the snake cannot ingest any, and because I can pull it out and clean it mess free.. When she moves up to fuzzies or larger I will probably change substrates. I will also probably add some moss, especially during sheds.

Thanks for the good comments and suggestions!!

Do you feed your snake in a seperate container? I reccommend doing so because your snake can’t ingest any substrate and because than it won’t associate your hand with food.

One thing you should keep in mind is that carpet gets soiled easily, and a bsby snake is likely to lie underneth it in the dark, damp filth. If you do use carpet., be sure to have several replacements ready that fit your cage. I like zoomed’s eco carpet because it has enough carpet to cover a 70 gallon tank and does a decent job absorbing feces. I use it for my leopard geckos with good results.

I actually like that carpet, you can wash it when it gets dirty, and holds moisture without going mouldy. That seems to be a nice setup you have there. as for the whole feeding in a seperate cage deal, i have had everything from corns to boas to pythons of all sizes, i have never found a difference from feeding in their cage vs out of cage. i used to feed them in a seperate area but after years of keeping different snakes in different enclosure i found its just a waste of time, but thats just my 2 cents. Great Setup for a baby corn anyway!

By the way, where are you getting your snake? I like CornUtorpia a lot. It’s where I got my five baby corns.
