I was in your situation not long ago. My parents hate snakes, but I love them. Have you already told your mom some facts, such as they don’t take up much space, don’t smell if you clean their cage ocasionally, and only need to be fed about once a week? If not, that might make her a bit more agreeable to getting one. If she still doesn’t want one, what I did was make a deal with my mom. I said that if I made honor roll on my first report card, then I could get a snake. Maybe you could do something like that. Hope this helps, good luck!

I was in your situation about a month ago! lol. my dad hates snakes with a passion, but my mom doesn’t mind them. my dad always said no, but my mom said yes. my mom told my brother he couldn’t get a tattoo, but he got one anyways, so she said i could get a snake! my dad was mad for a day and now he handles Shakira all the time! he loves her. so i guess it just depends. corn snakes definetely are the snakes that can change opinions that people have because of their calm nature. go with what africabound said and tell her all the positives. here’s a pic of my baby, shakira.

Expos Expos Expos. Take her to expos. Show her the snakes. Ask her which one her favorite is. And if she still won’t let you get one, don’t whine, and don’t fight it. Ask next year, and stay in touch with the cornsnake community, cornsnake breeders, and the expos.

hey - maybe you should remind her that he will be safe and secure in your room, and agre not to take him out anywhere out of your room?
Also, show her some snakebytestv episodes on youtube (and maybe skip the feeding shots)

same here. my mom hates them and always will. But i have two. they were in the garage for a little. then she got kinda used to them so i moved them to my room. just keep trying.
