Got a royal. but bad news.

The girl who had him let him get stuk to a exoterra thermometer backing. so he was left hanging by his neck, the tank was turned on his side and he managed to pull free, but took a chunk of his skin out too :(. then he got trapped under the bulb gaurd.
So a vet appointment will be made.

hes not feeding either becuase she kept him in a tank too big but iv taken him, and he is mine now.

I also think he may have lots of broken bones :( - possibly due to the bulb gaurd. dont know how the girl treated him.

As you can see he did have retained shed too :( poor boy, but i got that off.

when i brought him home:

With out the retained shed:

His injury

Man, there are some people out there that never should have a pet. I certainly hope he can recover well and begin eating for you. Good luck to both of you!

Poor boy!

My eyes are actually stinging, how could anyone let this happen to their animals?

I hope he has a speedy recovery, let us know how he gets on.

That wound looks pretty nasty. Are you going to feed smaller prey items (but maybe more of them) so it does not stretch the neck out while swallowing? Of course the previous owner didn’t seem to think to apply some water to reduce the stickiness while it was stuck, or even some oil like jojoba, or something else safe for the skin. Hopefully there won’t be too much scar tissue after it heals, he looks like he will be special needs the rest of his life. Good thing he has someone to take care of him!!

 Update

Well the call from the vet today.

He will keep going in the nebulizer, with antibiotics in it for his RI.

AS for the neck wound, as the tissue was damaged they have pulled the flap of skin back over and stitched it up, it may end up dying anyway, but it will protect that area untill that time.

AS he was waking up from the anaesthetic today, he got tube fed, which is the equivalent of 6 feeds roughly, so that should do him some good.

They did do the x ray on him. Mark said that he probably has a minimum of 15 broken bones poor fella

what did that girl do to him thats terrible how could she treat such a beautiful animal so horribly and i think your right about the broken bones. Remember to spray his tank at least once a day with water 4 the shedding part.
