So,

I just got a e-mail in my inbox, A lady wrote this:

Hi Emma, How are you and your family hope all is well and your mom too. i thank you very much for your mail, please my dear i dont want you to be confused this i why i write to you, my dear i want you to represent me and receive my inheritance fund in your country for investment and to further my education, i have try ed to retrieve the fund from the financial company but to no avail due to my refugee status the fund will not be realize to me here, only it have to be transfer out to any of my partner for investment purpose. So the financial company told me to look for any one that will help me receive the fund on my behalf. so my dear all i need from you is your trust and promise me you will handle the fund for me before i come over and join you for investing of it. i have all the information of the fund and the ducoment, the financial company told me that all we need to do now is to submit a latter of nominee signed my a resident lawyer here and send to them introducing you as my foreign partner that will receive the fund on my behalf, so the lawyer need your. Full NameAddressTelephone or faxoccupationAgeSex. Pleas my dear that is all that we have to do so that the financial company will start the transfer immediately. .Have a nice day and hope to hear from you soon Yours FriendAlima

What is this? A spam, or does she really want me to help here? Why would she ever come to me to do this?

I don’t know what to do?

Definitely a scam. My dad gets stuff like this often and I’ve gotten it once or twice.

It’s scary what people think of these days. They target older people who are likely to be confused about such a thing and the younger generation who don’t know better.

So please DON’T respond to it.

I used to get about five of these a day. It is what we like to call a fishing scam whereby they take a load of email addresses and cast out a line of emails to a load of them to see if they can catch any ’fishes’. Don’t do it, just delete it!

Delete it, and from now on, if you don’t recognize who the email is from, don’t open it. Emails like that could infect your computer as well.

LOL. I got one of those chain mail things today as well. Something about sending $28.00 to 28 individuals who will do the same for someone else... making someone rich. They say that it’ll just be a little while before one of those (in a multiple mailing) hits me (or you).

Yeah, right! I shredded that thing as soon as I got home with it. Wonder how they got my address???

I reply all the time for the fun off it, you can have convos with them.

Once i emaile back saying, sure id do it... blah blah... untill it came to payment. i Said you send a cheque in the post instead of trasnfer and id do it... hmmmmm lol, o reply after that


They just take your details and hack you

These scams are fairly common and there is a guy with a website that scams the scammers. Lots of reading, but worth it, it’s so funny. You can check it out at ebolamonkeyman.com. Beware there is some bad or suggestive stuff on there, but still funny.

Hope you know, by emailing them back, they now have your IP address, and can find out all your information through your ISP anyway.

Oh, and "Mrs." denotes being married... and you are showing your true age and maturity.
