My baby corn wont eat helpppp

ok im pretty new to corns. I have a small almost hatchling size and it just plain out refuses to eat anything. i tried a small pinkie as suggested. I have tried pin headcrickets.I even tried a worm as suggested. I have even tried an anole lizard as recommended by the pet shop I get my rats from who deal with corns a lot, nothing will not eat.It almost runs away from the food as if it is afraid of it. I was attempting to feed it my means of makin git bite to get food in its mouth but now its calming down so fast its not attempting to even bite. Any suggestions.

Umm okay who suggested the crickets and worms? Cornsnake do not eat those things, (they might in the wild if that is all that they can find but certainly not in captivity.) And what kind of pinkies have you tried? live? frozen/thawed? prekilled? brained? dead one soaked in tuna water? How long have you had this snake and how much do you handle it? if you havent given it at least a week to settle in to its new home before handling it it may be too stressed out to eat. What are your temps and humidity like? Does it have more than 1 hide in its enclosure? Is its cage in a high traffic area such as the living room or hallway? Did you get the snake from a breeder or from a petshop? Does it have access to a water bowl at all times? are its eyes cloudy or blue/whiteish colored right now, or have they been in the last 2-3 days? are the colors on its body kind of dull and ugly looking? how long are you waiting between each feeding attempt?

Alot of the times if you attempt a live pinky for its first feeding it gets scared and runs away. (at least in my experience.)
Sorry for all the questions but we need to know more details before we can positively determine why your little one wont eat.

circkets and woms is a no no

How long have you had it?

you need to leave it to settle otherwise it wont eat.

Leave the snake alone for about 10 days, just change its water, dont check on the snake, leave it if its hiding, then in the evening, get a small pink, sqeeze the head, a little brain/blood will come out, leave it on a pice of paper towek over night, by the mornng it should be gone.

The most important part is no handling or touching or bothering the snake.

My baby corn wont eat only

OK ya where to even begin. Yes my corn was wild caught.it has also has its first shed with me, or at least a shed in general. I did leave it in its tank for 8 days without and bothering as I do this with all my new arrivals. i only tried a f/t pinkie.I have had the snake 3 weeks now today. it is in a 10 gallon aquarium with rep carpet and 2 hides, around 83 in the day and 77 or so at night. humidity is usually around 45% give or take a few. It’s tank is not in a high traffic area nor are any of my snakes, I’m not new to snakes just corn snakes,I have burm pythons. yes it has a water bowl at all times available, haven’t seen it drink from it but it’s there, only time it’s eyes where blueish Grey was right before it’s shed and its shed was during the period of that one week of no contact. body and colors are great vibrant and colorful.I’ll pull out the cam tomorrow and take some pics of it as I need to post pics of my other babies anyways. i have been waiting at least 3 days between attempts of feeding.I’ at my wits end,I might try the brained pinkie if all else fails, it just seems to run from everything i have tried to give it.

Okay Im sure that SAM or JESSICA will correct me if im wrong here. lol but thats not a corn snake! Im not really sure what it is but I have definitely never seen a cornsnake that looks like that. Where do you live? is it wild caught from where you live? or was it caught somewhere else? If I were you I would try googling snakes native to the area that it was caught in. See if it is even a type of snake that eats mice. Good luck in finding out what it is and getting it to feed.

Totally agree, that is 100% NOT a corn snake, i don`t know what it is though. You should release it back to where you found it, as if you don`t know what it is, you don`t know how to care for it. Stress will kill it before long. The market is full to the brim of baby corn snakes, it is totally unnecessary to capture from the wild, and at least then you will actually know what you`ve got.

Eh yup its a balck racer!! I also got it eatting. I’ve also gotten it pretty damn tame to I am impressed so not worries people I didnt take a wild corn........I got a snake most people wouldnt keep as they are very jumpy lil things. I should have listened to my instincts on it as I didnt think corn snakes moved quiet like this one did but never had a baby corn so... but thanks anyway he or she is doing fine and eatting well.
