Cage upgrade another quick question, the cage is all aluminum screen and i don’t cup feed i let the crickets roam free. do I need to put another screen on the inside of that that has bigger holes? I’m just thinking the bigger he gets the more likely his claws can get caught in the screen and if there is a screen with bigger holes on the inside of the insect screen then this wont happen. Does anyone have a full grown adult panther that just uses normal aluminum insect screen? do they have problems getting their feet caught? My cages are well furnished and he has access to all parts of the cage without having to climb on the screen but sometimes it seems like he is on crack and he climbs everywhere including the screen lol.

Cage upgrade All my adult chams are in standard screen cages; I’ve never had any problems with nails. In my experience, as my chams aged, they didn’t really climb the cage sides like they did when they were small. I don’t see a definite need for a screen inside a screen.
If you free-range your feeders, your little 6-month old is going to have a tough time hunting in a 6’ x 4’ x 3’ cage. That’s a really big cage, even by chameleon standards.
